December 2003 Updates
|
|
What a busy month December has been. Amy had two Christmas programs she participated in. One at school and one at church. I think she enjoyed the one at church more than the one at school. She was much more animated and participating there - where as at school she got bored quick and then frustrated when her antlers wouldn't stay on her head right.
Oma and Pompo were here for a two week visit for Christmas. That was a big hit with Amy too. She loved having them here, playing with them and doing all sorts of fun things. Amy and Oma made cookies again this year, all three of them went to the park, and on Christmas eve we all went out for a drive to look at the Christmas lights. That was a lot of fun for everyone and tired her out enough to be able to go to sleep easily even though she was so excited about the next morning.
Christmas of course was a big event around here. I think this was the first year she realized what was going on. She had been asking for a dollhouse since August, so of course that was her big present this year. And a big hit it has been. That and her doctors kit were the two favorite presents this year.
She is becoming more and more the little adult everyday. She carries on these conversations with us and others that sound like you're talking to someone way older than 3. She talks on the phone fairly regularly to daddy, Oma, Pompo, and Grammie. Sometimes she'll talk to others who call too - often times she doesn't talk to other people only because we don't give her the chance when she wants to as well.
She still loves to play with her babies and animals, and usually one of the babies has to go out with us when we go somewhere. She has an entire routine she goes through now before we go out. If baby is coming with us, then along comes her purse, diaper bag and in these past few days her scarf, a necklace and a bracelet or two. She calls this her stylish look - and she has told me that she is more stylish than I am.
Music classes resume in January. She's looking forward to that again. She watched Yo Yo Ma on Mr. Rogers the other day and really seemed fascinated with that too once she figured out what he was doing.
Here are the pictures for December. Happy New Year everyone!
