January 2005 Updates

Happy New Year everyone.
Please note, that soon the updates from 2001 through 2003 will be going away. I am running out of disk space and will need to do some cleanup soon.
Now on with the update.
We had a great trip out to Washington over the holidays. Although there wasn't as much snow as Amy would have liked at Oma and Pompo's house, we did have a chance to go up in the mountains and play in the snow there. Okay, so it was only for a couople of minutes since it was 9 degrees outside - too cold for me. But she did get to make a snow angel, throw some snow at mommy, and lose her boot in a snow drift.
We also had the chance to go ice skating - Amy's first time ever. She really had fun and was doing pretty well. She did better when she wasn't holding on to me or the wall - but convincing her of that didn't work. Then she bonked her head on the ice one of the times she fell and that was the end of skating for the day.
Amy saw her first ballet while we were in Seattle. We went and saw the Nutcracker just after Christmas. I think the thing she had the most fun with was using the binoculars to watch. But she really enjoyed it and behaved very well.
She loved playing with and taking care of Mushi the dog. Everywhere Amy went, Mushi had to come too. The poor dog, I think she went through withdrawl when Amy left - because she didn't get to go near as many places as she did when Amy was there. When Mushi would ride in the car it was always in the back, up on Amys lap - and Amy thought that was just the greatest thing.
Since she's been back at school they have started learning to sight read words. She's up to 7 words that she now knows, and they are adding more each week. It's amazing to see their brains absorb all of this information.
Most of the pictures are from our trip. Since we've been back home, we've gotten right back in the routine of being busy again. So without further delay - enjoy!
