June 24, 2003
Well we are getting ready for vacation and enjoying a few dry, warm days.
We have been playing in the pool as much as the weather will allow - and both Amy & I are turning brown. And yes, we are using our sunscreen too.
On Friday morning Amy got to spend the morning with the Whitt family. They all went to the park to play, giving Patrice and Mark a taste of what it will be like to have 4 kids. (Patrice is due with number 4 at the end of July). Amy had a great time playing with them, she said she "swing all day" while they were at the park. They even listened to music in the mini-van and she told us that she knew a lot of the songs. And then went on to sing all the ones they sang that she knew.
On Saturday she had to help us wash Dean's truck and my Explorer, that is until she got "too tired" as she put it. But the time she did help, she was quite the little helper, getting the lower spots we couldn't reach as easily as she could.
Here are todays pictures. Enjoy!

Whoever said summertime was a time to slow down obviously did not have a three year old in their life. Here I thought summer would be a nice easy time for us to relax and enjoy the days - but much to my surprise I feel like we have been going non-stop.
Amy has been enjoying her dance lessons. It's been a 45 minute aerobic workout for me, but she has been having fun with all that they do. It hasn't been a formal introduction to ballet or tap, more of a movement class getting them used to moving their bodies. But after we get back from vacation she'll be going to a week long dance camp, only an hour a day by herself, and it will give me a better idea if she actually wants to take pre-dance ballet classes in the fall.
We seem to be past the temper tantrum stage now. There are still the occasional crying fits, and time outs still happen, but overall her behavior seems to be improving.
She wants to help all the time these days too. She is learning to set and clear the table and has even helped load the dishwasher a few times. Imitation also seems to be something she is learning from lately too. Often times she will want to do something or eat something that either Mommy or Daddy has. It seems to be a good way to get her to try some new things too.
We leave for Washington on the 25th and will be back July 10th. I will have my new fangled computer with me (another reason why updates haven't been getting posted lately - it's a MAC and I'm still getting used to it). But hopefully I will be able to post some pictures while we are gone.
Here are todays pictures. Enjoy!
