NO! (Amy's newest favorite word.) We have officially entered the "terrible twos". While not nearly as bad as some other kids, she is showing a definite independent streak and not wanting to listen to her parents.
This started about a week and a half ago, shortly before we left for our trip to Elkins. Around others she is still a perfect little angel, but when it's just mom and dad the tantrums can erupt.
We had a whirlwind trip up to Elkins. We left last Thursday, drove all day, and then spent Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday there visiting family and friends. Dean had the opportunity to see a few old childhood friends, as well as his 3rd grade teacher at a reunion on Saturday. On Sunday he caught up with another childhood friend that he hadn't seen in 23 years. It was a nice visit for everyone.
Amy had a great time playing with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Phil. She really enjoyed seeing the cows at Uncle Phils house and spent a lot of time picking flowers, mostly buttercups and clover. She did great traveling in the car. She had her animals to play with and crayons to color with, so that kept her occupied for a good portion of the time. She also kept a look out for more cows and motorcycles, making sure to let us know when she spotted them.
One of today's pictures was a school picture, taken this spring. Since we had the professional pictures taken in Seattle, we didn't order any of these, but did get one for free - so here it is. The other two are from our trip. One of Dean & his third grade teacher, and the other of Amy & Uncle Phil.
Enjoy today's pictures.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there. We hope you had a wonderful day.
As promised, more pictures of our trip. One of the days we were out there, we were treated to a boat ride on Aunt Maritza & Uncle Chuck's boat. They live on a quiet lake and we had a beautiful day for a ride. Amy really enjoyed herself and even took a turn at driving the boat.
She did great last Thursday when she went back to school. She only has two more weeks left and then she's done until late August. Other than a part time summer camp in July, she won't have any other planned activities for a while.
She is talking up a storm - to us and to herself. She is also starting to entertain herself and play independently more too. I see her imagination starting to develop in the way she is interacting with her baby and animals too. It is really a joy for me to be able to be home with her. I admit there are those moments when I feel otherwise, but life is definitely not perfect, and then we go on.
As a side note - we are looking at registering our own domain name soon. When that happens the address for Amy's website will change. I will be sure to let everyone know before that happens so you will be able to update your favorites & bookmarks.
Enjoy today's pictures.

Hello everyone we are finally home and mostly settled back in to our routine.
Amy had her 2 year check up yesterday. She now weighs 27 pounds and is 32 1/2 inches tall. She has gained 7 pounds in a little more than a year, and has grown 5 1/2 inches. She is in the 30th percentile for height and the 60th percentile for weight according to the growth charts, but the doctor wasn't worried. He pronounced her to be in good health.
We had a wonderful visit with Oma & Pompo, Aunt Maritza & Uncle Chuck, Uncle Will & Aunt Shelley, and Aunt Susan. In the two weeks that we were there Amy grew developmentally by leaps and bounds. She is speaking in sentences, much more clearly too. She loved playing with Mooshi the dog, Kiwi the cat however hid most of the time.
We had some family pictures taken too. The photographer did a beautiful job. Now we're just waiting for the prints to come back. When they do we'll be sure to share with everyone.
Another highlight of the trip was that Amy got to play a real piano again. She really enjoyed that and wanted to play every chance she got. The treat for me was getting to spend time with my mom and Aunt maritza quilting and learning new things. Dean & my dad flew down to Hillsboro Oregon for a day. Dean was the pilot in command of a Cessna 150. They had glorious weather for the flight and got some neat pictures of Mt. Ranier and Mt. St. Helens.
So without furhter ado, here are some of the pictures from our trip. More to follow in the coming days.
