May 2004 Updates
|
|
Sorry there haven't been any updates sooner than this. May has been a busy month around here.
Amy finished school on Thursday - they had a little party with an inflatible jumping thing. That was a big hit with all of the kids, and wore everyone out.
Since the weather has been so warm we've been playing outside and in the pool a lot. Amy is trying some of the things that she learned in swim lessons last year (even in the little wading pool that we have) and will be having swim lessons again this summer with Haley (from our church). It turns out she is a certified lifeguard and has a pool available to teach lessons in too.
She grows more independent every day. She now wants to make her own sandwiches for lunch (usually ham and cheese or peanut butter & jelly), but she's doing a good job of it. She's also picking up more on what is healthy and what is not. We've finally got her drinking more water, and are trying to get in some healthier snacks than what we used to eat.
She's also Mommy's little helper these days. Every time I'm doing sometihng, even just boiling water, she wants to help. So now I'm finding that things take a little longer than they used to, we have more messes to clean up, and we're having fun together. While it can be a challenge, we're looking at it as learninng experiences too - and she really has a love of learning right now. So we'll continue fostering that as long as we can.
So without further delay - pictures for May.
