October 2003 Updates

Happy fall everyone. We've been finally enjoying some really spectacular weather around here. Sunny cool days and crisp nights have been a great change from the heat and humidity that we dealt with all summer. It has allowed us to play outside just about everyday, and enjoy the fresh air at night.

We made our annual trip up to the pumpkin patch. There were 15 of us all together (adults and children). Of course the kids outnumbered the adults, but everyone had a fun time. This year Amy seemed to enjoy the hay ride - she even waved to the scarecrows which she decided weren't that scary after all. She wasn't too crazy about the animals in the petting zoo, but that was okay, because neither was I. She did like the hay maze and loved sliding on the slides they had set up too. We had a picnic lunch and then everyone returned home for much needed naps.

Amy is still loving church and all the people she is meeting there. She accompanied Dean and me to a meeting on Sunday night, where during the question and answer time with the pastor she raised her hand to ask her question. It turned out her question was that she wanted to tell Pastor Doug "I love you". He was quite taken by her comment, and told her that he loved her too, and then the rest of the people there how sweet she is. He is quite taken with her, as are the childrens ministry workers and just about everyone else that meets her. Everyday she asks if it is a church night and gets bummed out on the days it isn't and gets very excited on the days that it is.

There are a bunch of pictures today from the Pumpkin Patch so enjoy.
